Legendary Roland K Syria

Founder and Visionary Leader

As the visionary behind our network, Roland K Syria, renowned as Maestroland, has been the driving force since 1988. Under his leadership, we have cultivated a sound that resonates deeply with our diverse audience. With a rich background as a DJ and engineer, his expertise has shaped us into a beloved staple of the New Jersey/New York urban radio scene. Roland’s prophetic touch and unwavering commitment to community outreach have allowed us to foster connections that transcend musical genres.

Drawing on years of experience, Mr. Syria presently serves as the creator/program host of The Audio Light Club with the Legendary Roland K. Syria (Maestroland the DJ, Engineer, Prophet) on WBJL Radio/103.9 FM, as well as 8 Squad Rebel Radio and WNJR-Radio.net. The Audio Light Club came into existence in the fall of 1988 at WRSU 88.7 FM/wrsu.org (Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ) on the Friday overnight timeslot. For eighteen years it developed the most uniquely progressive musical format known to mankind. The programming musical genres include house, sanctified dance, urban, jazz, Latin, CCM, reggae, and a hint of rap (holy hip hop) that's all gospel.
This native of New Jersey grew up as a ward of the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) and began his musical journey as a musician in the Jersey City school system. After being handed the trumpet in the fourth grade, the journey began as he played in the marching bands, jazz ensembles, and orchestras of the city's educational system. His induction to broadcasting began at the cable carrier station WRLC 640 AM Livingston College (known as "The Rock") (Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ) originally in the fall of 1975.
Similarly, he serves as a founder/technical director with Maestroland, LLC, and currently fulfills the role as a field service technician with Diversified along with a casual role as project engineer with Edart GTI, Inc. During the later stages of his career, Mr. Syria gained valuable expertise in the integration technologies field as an audio-visual technician for Video Corporation of America, Novartis/Alpha Technologies Inc., Herman and as an executive producer and creator of The Audio Light Club also known as The Roland K. Syria Show. Also, The Audio Light Club is a playlist reporting reprint entity for Gospel USA Magazine.
Outside of his work, Mr. Syria contributes to his community through Evan B. Farrior Ministries Corporation (USA), Evan B. Farrior Ministries International (Africa), New Life/UIA (New Jersey), Christ Love International Church (Newark. NJ), Higher Praise Church (Newark, NJ), and the Black Interest Team Enterprise (BITE, Jersey City, NJ), through which he is an event technologies production director, FOH engineer, production equipment supplier, and minister of music. In addition, he has received numerous certificates and citations for his community service from United States Senate (Special Senate), the State of New Jersey Senate, and City Council of Jersey City, NJ. Subsequently, Mr. Syria received an OSHA 30 Certification from the OSHA Training Institute Education Centers at the University of South Florida in 2019.
The Audio Light Club (aka The Roland K. Syria Show) podcasts can be heard on the lineup of Spreaker, iHeart Radio, YouTube, Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Apple music, Spotify and Twitch just to name a few. While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Syria takes the most pride in being able to meet some great people throughout his entire career. In the coming years, he intends to experience his career's continued growth and success. Ultimately, Mr. Syria aims to return to terrestrial radio and own an FM station in New York/New Jersey (#1 Arbitron Radio Community, internet radio, and satellite radio) and media/entertainment center. That 24/7 station/network will air his uniquely progressive gospel genre(s) while finishing the writing of his first of many books.
